For some Moms, the kids have been back in school for about 2 weeks and others this may be week 1 for you. I don’t know about you, but I feel like I struggled more with getting acclimated to the schedule than my child. Over the summer things were a little bit more relaxed because there wasn’t any real pressure. The first day of school I was like a zombie because I had stayed up late trying to get everything together. With that being said here are a few tips to help you get back on track for the school year:
- Making a plan (schedule) will go a long way throughout the school year. Of course things will interfere with it, but it sure helps when adding and subtracting things from daily/weekly activities.
- Prepare the night before. Do as much as possible before going to bed, that way you have a little bit more time in the morning. This may allow you to be able to eat breakfast with your child/children.
- Limit screen time (T.V., Ipads, Ipods, Kindles) offer books to get your child back into reading. This will be a great time for you to spend quality time right before bed.
- Pull out the crock pot and make dinner options easier. Make sure to get an automatic crock pot so, you can throw and go.
I hope these few little tips help you and your family get Back to the Basics. I would love to hear your tips on getting back into the groove of the school year! Leave your comment below!
